When to Check With Your Doctor

WHAT THE ATHLETES HAVE TO SAY ABOUT PAT...

Willie Parker, Pittsburgh Steelers
I owe a lot to my trainer Pat Etcheberry. He had faith in me and my abilities. Without his workouts to make me as strong -- football strong, body and mind -- as I am now, I don't know if I could have had the same success. But no, he's not getting a cut of the $13 million! Justine Henin, 3-Time #1 World Tennis Champion When I first met you Pat, lots of people wanted to work with you. I was a good tennis player, but I hadn't won any Grand Slams. So I knew I had a lot of work to do. You helped me improve things in my game. I wasn't as strong as I am now. Those drills in the sand, the agility drills, everything helped me become stronger mentally and physically and win seven Grand Slam titles and become #1 in the world three times. We got to the next level. That we did. Jim Courier, Member of the Tennis Hall of Fame Pat's training took me from #25 in the world when we started working together all the way to #1. And I know I have him to thank for it. It's was fun. Richard Verzaal, Querbes Tennis Center, Shreveport, LA When we received Pat's tapes my son Robert was ranked #50 in the South, Boys 14 & under. We started using his training techniques from the DVDs, and four months later he was #6 in the Southern Boy's 14's, and just won the top Southern designated tournament, with wins over the #1 and #4 players in the South." David Leadbetter, Legendary Tennis Coach Working with Pat over the years, both on my own conditioning and that of the golfers I train, has been an eye-opener for me. First of all, it's not so obvious that golfers need training. How much strength does it take to swing a club? I found out from Pat that that's not quite the question. The question is: how do you prepare to swing consistently every time? The answer lies in many parts of your body. Core training and strong legs absolutely determine the quality of the swing. Look at Annika Sorenstam who I train using some suggestions from Pat. Her swing is as simple and repetitive as anyone's in the game. This helps explain why she hits eight out of 10 fairways and nearly as many greens in regulation. A few years ago I sent Bernhard Langer to Pat. He didn't have the get up and go to keep on through adversity. Pat worked with him not only on core strength, but on cardio - often under extreme stress. Bernhard came out tough as nails. He became consistent - six top-three finishes in the British Open. John and Rachel McHenry Since our visit with Pat my daughter has picked up about 25-30 yards on her driver!!! She shot record rounds of 71 & 68 in recent tournaments, and we give your program all the credit. Al Unser Jr., Indy Car Racer I had been losing races and getting pretty depressed; I had lost the desire to win. My friend and fellow race car drive Eddie Cheever recommended training with Pat Etcheberry, who he regarded as a little bit of a magician. I'll tell you that I thought only magic could bring me around again. But Cheever explained that Pat's real talent lay in getting you to want to win, and to do whatever you had to do to get there. Right from the start I wanted to work hard, but when I had to do my first sequence of leg lifts, I have to admit that I could not imagine what one leg lift would do for me as I gassed up my car - much less so many that I was sweating and feeling feint. But Pat kept egging me on, and I was surprised after the first week to find myself actually enjoying the effort. Pat is gutsy. He does not back off. But he doesn't ask you to do anything he doesn't do himself. After five strenuous weeks of Pat's program, I was beginning to look to myself to deliver the goods. I felt like my own man. I felt combative again. I wanted to go out and win. I am not sure that I have explained exactly how the physical experience of working out really, really hard gets to your mind. But I can tell you it does. And Pat got me there. Etcheberry Certification Clinic Testimonials As a coach in the Los Angeles area, the players that I am training have progressed very much from the exercises and techniques that I have shown them from the clinics. In this short amount of time, their footwork has improved, they are in better overall shape, and are stronger. Due to the positive feedback I am receiving, many more people are beginning to see the significance of what I can do for them, which is inevitably going to help my business. The past few months I have been using the Etcheberry footwork drills, Medicine Ball, and functional strength training with my juniors and it has made a huge difference. I have also started a women's tennis conditioning clinic and the women love it. The training I have received has been invaluable and hope to further my career and take it to the next level.
